Signs of Life is a three-piece photographic collection exploring life through three ambiguous moments in the natural world—what may be beginning, what may have survived, and what eventually remains.
The collection begins with Quiet Promise, where two speckled eggs rest almost unnoticed among stone, dry earth, and vegetation. Their story is unresolved. They may hold developing life, or they may be empty. The photograph captures that uncertainty—a small moment containing the possibility of something yet to begin.
Washed Ashore introduces a different kind of uncertainty. A solitary crab claw rests beneath weathered driftwood along the beach, but its presence does not necessarily mark the end of the animal that carried it. It could be the remains of a crab, or simply evidence of an encounter survived—a natural battle scar left behind while life continued elsewhere.
The sequence ends with Silent Witness, where ambiguity gives way to certainty. A weathered animal skull rests among living sage and dense brush. One life has ended, yet growth continues around it, returning what remains to a landscape still very much alive.
Together, the photographs suggest a cycle without spelling out every answer: potential life, survival, and eventual return to the landscape. The eggs may become new life. The crab may have survived the loss represented on the shore. The skull has reached the end of one life while vegetation continues around it.
Three moments. Three possibilities. One continuing cycle.
Each set is made to order specifically for you. Producing artwork on demand helps reduce unnecessary inventory and overproduction while ensuring every piece is created with purpose.
